The R&N litigation team have enjoyed more success for their clients, this time in litigation that has been referred to the Financial Ombudsman Service. Peter Hastings acted for a business who disputed a Bank’s claim to a significant early redemption fee. The referral has been upheld and the parties are seeking to agree a final resolution.
Peter Hastings and Jenna Ansell have also acted for a Company who were the subject of a Complaint filed at the Financial Ombudsman Service. The Adjudicator dismissed the complaint and the decision has been upheld by the Ombudsman. Peter comments: “A big factor on both cases, and which lead to the successes, was the thorough collation of the evidence and attention to detail, which combined with our specialist knowledge of consumer credit law and banking litigation resulted in favourable decisions”.
The team is currently acting on a number of finance disputes including mis-selling claims against Banks arising from “Hedge Products” and Early Redemption Penalties. The team has already secured admissions of liability for clients and payment of damages in addition to agreements to suspend payments.
