Race Evening a great success

Tuesday, March 25, 2014

Rogers & Norton have recently hosted a unique event at the Theatre Royal by arranging a race evening and charity supper there in aid of the Theatre Royal Schools Project.  The evening was organised in an attempt to raise enough money to purchase an electric piano for the children to use in future productions and as the result of a great deal of effort and magnificent generosity from Companies and individuals alike, the target of £2000 was reached and the stalls in the Theatre were filled throughout the evening by cheering race goers hoping to win a few pounds!

The actual total raised amounted to £2320 and we are extremely grateful to all our guests who attended the evening, the race sponsors, our printers The Useful Print Company who produced the programme free of charge and of course the compere for the evening, Ray Wharton of Thurton Players and his hard working team whose enthusiasm was unlimited. It should not go unmentioned too about the brilliant help and assistance given to us by all the staff at the Theatre who were instrumental in making the event such a success.

Graham Knights, Practice Manager, commented “It was really rewarding to be able to raise funds for such a worthy cause and to know that the children will enjoy the benefits of the equipment for many years as a result of our hard work.  We also thoroughly enjoyed the experience of putting on the event in such a magnificent venue”.
