Man v Lakes

Newly appointed Practice Manager, Aidan Tidnam, is taking on the most adventurous marathon distance running journey in Britain.  On 15th July Aidan will be taking on the Man v Lakes challenge, which involves running a marathon starting across the quick sands of Morecambe Bay, before taking on the highest peaks of the Lake District and finishing near Lake Windermere.

If he survives the Aidan is hoping to raise some money for The East Anglian Children’s Hospice – R&N’s nominated charity this year.

If you need more information on the event you can follow this link http://ratrace.com/manvslakes/

You can help Aidan Tidnam raise money for this great cause by donating directly to their fundraising page – https://www.justgiving.com/Aidan-Tidnam?utm_source=Sharethis&utm_medium=fundraisingpage&utm_content=Aidan-Tidnam&utm_campaign=pfp-email.

JustGiving sends your donation straight to East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you are a UK taxpayer, so your donation is worth even more.

This 26.2 is like nothing you will have experienced. You will enter the Lake District by striking out with This 26.2 is like nothing you will have experienced. You will enter the Lake District by striking out with an audacious and surreal crossing of the Bay, before plunging north through mountainous country on a rollercoaster running route that brings you to the foot of England’s most famous Lake. A shore-to-shore crossing of Windermere at its narrowest point will set the stage for what is yet to come: Proceeding higher into the hills and forests of the area and immersing yourself into the Lake itself, tackling short wades, swims,* slides, jumps and an amazingly bold floating assault course. A trademark Man Vs “Vertical Kilometre” will push those quads to breaking point and help to rack up a whopping 3000ft of ascent before you psych yourself up for a “Swallows and Amazons” rope swing suspended from a crane chucking you into the drink. After clocking up those miles you’re going to be looking forward to a lie down and a pint of Wainwright Golden Beer, sit back and relax as across the finish line on our giant water slide.
