NHS Continuing Healthcare

The majority of people have to pay something towards, if not all, of any care that they receive.

Specialist NHS Continuing Healthcare Solicitor

If someone has significant ongoing health needs, they are able to get their care paid for through a scheme called NHS continuing healthcare.

NHS continuing healthcare is a package of care for people who are assessed as having significant ongoing health care needs. It is arranged and funded by the NHS.

If you receive care in your own home the NHS covers the cost of the support you need from health professionals, together with the cost of personal care which can include help with washing and getting dressed.

If you receive NHS continuing healthcare in a care home, the NHS pays your care home fees.

When an application is made for continuing healthcare and it is subsequently declined, the applicant or their representative are able to contact the Clinical Commissioning Group for an independent review within 6 months of the initial decision, if they believe the decision is incorrect.

The dispute resolution or review process is complex. A solicitor will need to analyse all the evidence in order to:

  • Advise on your prospects for success in challenging a continuing health care decision
  • Prepare written arguments to support the review/appeal

Rogers & Norton have a wide ranging experience and understanding of dealing with both vulnerable and elderly clients. Our talented and knowledgeable team have the skills needed to support and guide you through the appeals process to achieve the best possible outcome.
