Rogers & Norton Solicitors all set for annual Law Academy
Here at Rogers & Norton Solicitors Ltd we will be holding our annual Law academy in November, hosting a series of legal workshops designed to introduce sixth form students to a potential career in law.
The objective of the Academy is to work in partnership with a range of local schools and colleges to offer guidance and support to students with an interest in undertaking a career in the law, together with an opportunity to gain a better understanding of what the process entails. We relaunched our Law Academy last year following a two year break due to Covid, and were delighted with the feedback received from the students taking part, their parents and participating schools.
Starting in November, we will deliver monthly workshops to year 12 and 13 students from Thorpe St Andrew High School, CNS, Wymondham College, Sprowston High School and City College Norwich. The sessions will take place at their Norwich office and will be hosted by legal professionals who specialise in the topics being covered. Topics include wills, trusts and probate, property, commercial, litigation and personal injury. The Law Academy will conclude with a session on careers and the pathway to qualification, with trainee solicitors, chartered legal executives, directors and barristers in attendance to share their experiences and talk through the options available for entering law.

Traditionally law firms hold vacation schemes for university law graduates, but very few structured work-experience opportunities are available to sixth form students.
