Stamp Duty Land Tax holiday

1st Jul 2021

Like all conveyancers across the country, the team at Rogers & Norton have been working extremely hard in the run up to the first of the Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) holiday deadlines which happened yesterday, 30th June.

In our busiest period to date, we have completed over 1800 transactions since the announcement of the SDLT holiday back in July 2020.

As we now move to the second and final phase of the holiday, the team will continue to work through as many transactions as possible to allow our clients to benefit from the nil rate band being £250,000 – a significant saving for many purchasers. From 1 October, the nil rate band will return to £125,000.

Bruce Faulkner, Managing Director & Head of Property said: ‘The team have been absolutely magnificent. For several months now they have been dealing with significantly more transactions than normal without any fuss. As a result a lot of clients have been able to make significant savings’.
