Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week 2026 at Rogers & Norton Solicitors

This week we are proud to be marking National Apprenticeship Week 2026 and recognising the important role apprentices play across our firm.

We are currently supporting two apprentices in different but equally important areas of the business, legal services and accounts, both of whom are already making a valuable contribution.

Ethan Nelson-Gil originally joined Rogers & Norton as a General Office Assistant and quickly became a valued member of the team. In November 2025, he was promoted to Paralegal in recognition of his hard work and development, and in December 2025 he began his Solicitor Apprenticeship. He is now combining hands-on legal experience with structured academic study as he works towards qualifying as a solicitor. This is a significant milestone for us as a firm, as Ethan is our first Solicitor Apprentice.

Ethan said: โ€œIโ€™m really pleased to have started my Solicitor Apprenticeship with Rogers & Norton. Beginning my career here as a General Office Assistant gave me a real insight into how the firm works and allowed me to build relationships across different departments. Being able to progress internally and continue developing my career here while studying has been a great opportunity.

Iโ€™m really enjoying my time in the Personal Injury team, gaining hands-on experience and learning from colleagues around me. Iโ€™m currently working towards qualification as a Solicitor through a combination of academic studies with BPP Law School and practical experience within the firm. Iโ€™m due to qualify in 2031 and Iโ€™m looking forward to the learning process over the next few years.โ€

Alongside Ethan, Jessica Powles joined us approximately six months ago as an Accounts Apprentice within our Accounts Department. From day one, Jessica has supported the financial operations of the firm while developing her knowledge and professional qualifications through her apprenticeship programme. Her role is an important part of ensuring the smooth running of the business, and she has quickly established herself as a valued member of the Accounts team.

Both apprenticeships reflect something we feel strongly about, creating genuine career pathways and investing in people at the start of their professional journeys.

Louis Hilldrup-Boorman, Marketing Manager at Rogers & Norton Solicitors, said: โ€œI know first-hand how valuable apprenticeships can be. I began my own career as an apprentice and described the experience at the time as โ€˜transformativeโ€™. It gave me confidence, practical experience and a clear sense of direction.

It is great to see Ethan and Jessica progressing in their own careers. Apprenticeships create real opportunities to learn, develop and build long-term careers, and we are proud to support that here at Rogers & Norton Solicitors.โ€

As a Norfolk-based law firm with offices in Norwich, Attleborough and Dereham, we remain committed to investing in people, supporting skills development and providing accessible routes into both legal and professional services careers.
