Peace of Mind with Purpose: Discounted Lasting Power of Attorney Services This Spring

At Rogers & Norton Solicitors, we’re pleased to be launching our 2026 Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) campaign, running from Monday 2nd February – Friday 1st May 2026. The campaign is designed to help individuals and families put important plans in place for the future, while also giving something back to the local community.

Throughout the campaign, we’re offering a 20% discount on our Lasting Power of Attorney fees, whilst continuing our commitment to the community by donating £50.00 from every LPA appointment to the Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity. It’s a simple way to gain peace of mind for tomorrow, while supporting vital hospice care for local people today.

Laura Rumsey, Director and Head of the firm’s Private Client Department, said: “Putting a Lasting Power of Attorney in place is one of the most important steps you can take to protect yourself and your family, yet it’s something many people put off until it’s too late. This campaign is about making that decision easier – offering clear, practical legal advice, reducing the cost, and at the same time supporting a local charity that does incredible work for people across Norfolk.”

Why a Lasting Power of Attorney matters

A Lasting Power of Attorney allows you to appoint someone you trust to make decisions on your behalf if you become unable to do so due to mental or physical incapacity. It helps ensure your wishes are respected, protects your interests by reducing the risk of disputes or legal challenges, and provides reassurance that your affairs are in order.

Putting an LPA in place is a significant step, and it’s important that it’s done properly. Our experienced private client team will take the time to explain your options clearly, help you make informed decisions that reflect your personal circumstances, and ensure your documents are prepared carefully to avoid errors or delays.

The two types of Lasting Power of Attorney

There are two types of LPA, each serving a different purpose:

A Property and Financial Affairs LPA allows your appointed attorney or attorneys to assist with financial matters such as managing bank accounts, paying bills, buying or selling property and overseeing investments. One of the key benefits of this type of LPA is that, once registered, it can be used while you still have mental capacity if you wish.

A Health and Welfare LPA enables your attorney or attorneys to make decisions about your health and care, including medical treatment, where you live and day-to-day welfare decisions. This type of LPA can only be used if you lose mental capacity in the future, helping ensure your wishes are followed when you are no longer able to make decisions yourself.

Our team will guide you through the process from start to finish, ensuring your LPA is legally sound and correctly registered with the Office of the Public Guardian.

Supporting Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity

Funds raised through this initiative will support the exceptional work of Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity at Priscilla Bacon Lodge, a state-of-the-art facility located near the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital. Priscilla Bacon Hospice provides specialist palliative and end-of-life care, wellbeing services and support for patients and families across Norfolk.

Following the success of last year’s campaign, which raised over £3,000 for the hospice, we’re proud to continue supporting a cause that makes such a meaningful difference within our local community.
