Rogers & Norton Solicitors Raises £1350 for Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity Through Lasting Power of Attorney Initiative
We’re thrilled to announce that our recent Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) initiative has resulted in a significant donation of £1350 to the Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity. This donation reflects our dedication to making a positive impact within our community.
Our initiative, which ran from 2nd January – 29th March 2024, offered clients a 20% discount on LPA fees. In addition to the discount, we pledged to donate £50 to Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity for each LPA appointment scheduled during the promotional period.
LPAs are crucial legal documents that grant someone the authority to make decisions on your behalf when you are no longer able to make those decisions for yourself due to mental or physical incapacity. LPAs provide individuals with control over their future to protect their interests in the event of incapacity. They offer peace of mind, maintain personal autonomy, and help avoid potential legal complications and family disputes. We initiated this campaign to encourage proactive planning while also giving back to our community.

After a 4 ½ year fundraising campaign, the new Priscilla Bacon Lodge welcomed its first patients in September of last year. Thanks to the remarkable generosity of fundraisers and organisations from Norfolk and beyond, the Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity successfully completed the fundraising necessary to construct the new hospice.
Built next to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, the new Priscilla Bacon Lodge is a state-of-the-art specialist palliative care unit for individuals’ facing life-limiting conditions. As well as inpatient beds, a day unit and a wellbeing centre, the Lodge will act as a hub for community-based services, enabling more people to receive care in their own homes. It replaces the original Priscilla Bacon Lodge – on Unthank Road – and will build on the 44 years of outstanding care given to thousands of people around the county. The hospice’s dedication to providing comfort and support to patients and their families across Norfolk aligns closely with Roger & Norton’s commitment to community welfare.

LPAs are vital legal documents which protect individuals’ wishes and can help to provide peace of mind for those with life limiting conditions. Funds raised will help the Charity continue to develop new services such as the bereavement service and music therapy which will enhance care for patients and their loved ones at Priscilla Bacon Lodge.”
