Law Academy – That’s a Wrap!
The Rogers & Norton Law Academy 2023-2024 has drawn to a close, marking the end of an enriching journey for aspiring legal minds.
Working in partnership with several local schools, we delivered a series of monthly workshops designed to cultivate the next generation of legal professionals, expertly led by lawyers who specialise in the respective topics being covered. These workshops provided students with an insight into day-to-day life of lawyers working within specific practice areas such as family law, wills, trusts and probate, property, commercial, litigation and personal injury.

The final workshop, held in April, provided a fitting finale to the Academy, with an engaging workshop focused on career paths and the route to becoming qualified. Led by Director and Personal Injury Solicitor Mark Hambling, our final session featured talks by Solicitor Chloe Tooley, Associate and Chartered Legal Executive Hannah Rudling, and guest speaker Henry King, a Barrister from 12 King’s Bench Walk. They shared their own journeys into law, offering valuable insights and discussing the various entry options. What made this session special was its openness to not only students but also their parents and teachers, all eager to learn more about the legal profession.
Sophie, a student participating in this year’s Law Academy, said: ‘‘The Rogers & Norton Law Academy was a fascinating experience, which displayed a huge variety of different disciplines within the law from commercial law to litigation. I found the opportunity to speak with solicitors and even a barrister, hugely inspiring and it was very informative, providing me with a brilliant insight into a career in the law. I would recommend this experience to anybody wishing to expand their knowledge, or who may be considering a career in this field as it has definitely shaped my decisions moving forwards.’’
Director and Personal Injury Solicitor Mark Hambling said: ‘‘I enjoy my career in the law and feel privileged to hold the qualification of a solicitor. I believe it is important to inspire the next generation of lawyers to enter the legal profession and hopefully our law academy can help in achieving that goal.’’
