Rogers & Norton Launches First Dereham Law Academy at Dereham Sixth Form
Rogers & Norton Solicitors proudly hosted the first session of its new Dereham Law Academy on Thursday 6th March at Dereham Sixth Form. This marks an exciting expansion of the firm’s law academy, following the success of its Norwich-based educational initiative.
The Dereham Law Academy consists of 15 enthusiastic students who will take part in three interactive sessions focusing on private client law, personal injury, and property law.
Director Laura Rumsey led the inaugural session, returning to her former sixth form with a sense of nostalgia and pride. The session, supported by Associate Hannah Rudling, covered key topics including an interactive quiz on Wills, drafting a Will from an attendance note, exploring estate administration and considering the impact of undue influence.
Reflecting on the experience, Laura Rumsey said “The reason I have a career in law is because I attended Dereham Sixth Form and was taught A Level Law by Jo Elphick. I am delighted that she continues to inspire the next generation of lawyers, and I hope that by Rogers & Norton providing practical sessions for students, we can enhance their passion for the legal profession.”
The academy not only introduces students to practical legal activities that reflect the work of lawyers practicing in specific areas of law, but also provides guidance on various career pathways in law.
The Rogers & Norton Law Academy continues to grow, now operating in both Norwich and Dereham, with plans for further expansion.
