Rogers & Norton recovers more than £1m in construction dispute
Rogers & Norton’s specialist Construction team has successfully acted for a client to recover in excess of £1 million relating to construction works.
Director and Head of Litigation, Peter Hastings, provided advice and support throughout the matter, which involved a significant financial dispute arising from construction works. Following Peter’s involvement, the client was able to progress the matter and recover more than £1 million, bringing a successful conclusion to a substantial element of the dispute.
Peter said: “Construction disputes can very quickly become complex, particularly where there are significant sums involved and a number of contractual and commercial considerations to work through. We were pleased to be able to support our client through this matter and, ultimately, help them recover in excess of £1 million. Receiving such positive feedback from the client afterwards was also greatly appreciated.”

Court proceedings are not always the answer and, particularly in construction, there can be other ways of resolving disputes more quickly and commercially.
“Early advice can also be extremely valuable. Understanding your contractual position and the options available at an early stage can help prevent a dispute escalating unnecessarily.”
