Rogers & Norton Solicitors Makes a Splash Sponsoring Dereham Otters Iceni Swimming Gala
We were proud to sponsor the Dereham Otters Iceni Swimming Gala last weekend, marking a significant step in our growing involvement within the Dereham community. As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, we actively seek out opportunities to engage with and support local initiatives and this sponsorship reflects our commitment to investing in the communities we serve.
The gala was held in Dereham, with representatives from Rogers & Norton attending, including Director and Head of Private Client, Laura Rumsey. Laura has a personal connection to the club, having been involved as a swimmer during her younger years. Her continued support of the club made this event particularly special. “As a keen swimmer when I was younger, I was involved with Dereham Otters, and 11 years ago through the club, I met our Managing Director, Bruce Faulkner, who is also a qualified swimming referee. After some communication, I started as an Office Junior at Rogers & Norton. The rest, as they say, is history,” said Laura. “It’s incredibly special to now be in a position to sponsor a club that meant so much to me as a child and was also the reason I began my journey with Rogers & Norton.”
The gala, attended by swimmers, their parents and many members of the local community, was a great success! Laura, alongside Director Mark Hambling and other members of the Rogers & Norton team, represented the firm at the event throughout the weekend. In addition to sponsoring the gala, Laura and her colleagues organised a bake sale, which raised approximately £500 for the Dereham Otters Swimming Club. We also donated items to the event’s tombola, which were warmly received by attendees and contributed to the event’s overall success.
The Chairman of the Dereham Otters, Tyrone Babbidge, expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thank you to Rogers & Norton Solicitors for sponsoring the Dereham Otters Iceni gala. Your sponsorship and support throughout the gala made a huge contribution to what has been a very successful event for the club! Thank you!”
