Law Academy concludes with careers workshop at Norwich City Football Club
We were delighted to bring our 2025–2026 Law Academy programme to a close with our final careers workshop, held on Wednesday 15th April at Norwich City Football Club.
The session marked the conclusion of a seven-month programme, which began in October 2025 and brought together students from nine sixth forms across Norfolk, alongside participants from Dereham Sixth Form as part of our expanding Dereham Law Academy. The final session was also attended by parents, guardians and teachers, with around 50 people joining us in total.
Over the course of the programme, students attended monthly workshops covering a wide range of legal disciplines, including Corporate and Commercial, Litigation, Private Client, Family Law, Personal Injury and Property Law. Each session was designed to be practical and interactive, giving students a genuine insight into life within a modern law firm.
Our final workshop, hosted by Director and Head of Private Client Laura Rumsey, focused on career pathways into law and featured a panel of speakers representing a range of routes into the profession. Students heard from a trainee solicitor, solicitor apprentice, chartered legal executive, barrister and professor in law at the University of East Anglia, offering a well-rounded perspective on the different options available.

We also took the opportunity to reflect on the wider structure of the legal profession, highlighting that a successful law firm relies on a broad range of roles beyond lawyers, including marketing, HR, finance and IT. Students were encouraged to consider all potential pathways into the sector, as well as the different routes to qualification.
Reflecting on the programme, Louis Hilldrup-Boorman, Marketing Manager at Rogers & Norton, said: “The growth of the Law Academy over the past 12 months has been significant. We’ve gone from delivering sessions in our own offices to hosting a full cohort at Norwich City Football Club, alongside the introduction of our Dereham programme. It’s a clear reflection of the demand for practical, meaningful insight into the legal profession, and the appetite from students to engage with it.
“What started as a small initiative has quickly developed into something we’re incredibly proud of. The scale, the quality of engagement from students, and the support from our team and guest speakers has been excellent. It’s been great to see how seriously students have approached each session, particularly as this is something they’ve committed to alongside their studies, with no obligation to do so.”
Students were encouraged to build on their experience by including the Law Academy on their CVs, considering which areas of law interest them most, and exploring entry-level opportunities within the legal sector.
Our Law Academy continues to play an important role in supporting young people across Norfolk, improving access to the profession and providing a practical, structured introduction to careers in law.
