Non-contentious construction & engineering legal services
Our non-contentious team advises on the drafting and negotiation of construction contracts. We assist with contractual issues and are quick to understand business needs, giving practical advice in relation to legal challenges.
We advise a wide variety of developers, contractors and sub-contractors. Our solicitors are equally at home advising our international clients on standalone projects as they are supporting our commercial property team. Advice is provided on the construction issues arising out of development agreements, agreements for lease and other development related documentation.
We work with bespoke contracts as well as standard forms such as JCT, NEC3 and FIDIC. It’s important that our advice is carefully tailored to our client’s specific objectives and approach to risk management.
The increase in non-standard documentation and the continual change in standard forms means that the companies need to take great care to ensure their interests are properly protected.
In addition advice is given on a wide range of construction documentation associated with development/project transactions, including professional appointments, building contracts and the preparation of sub-contracts. We also draft all ancillary documentation, including parent company guarantees, performance bonds, retention bonds and collateral warranties.

I think the congratulations should go to you because without your help and guidance I’m not sure that I would have got this far. I was very happy with the result and it definitely allowed me to enjoy my weekend.

If I ever need anyone to fight my corner in the Corporate world, you will be the first to hear about it. Very many thanks for your remarkably swift and positive approach to the whole thing.
Just a quick e-mail to say how much we appreciate all the hard work you put in on our behalf over the past 10 months on our complicated case, including your help with the Bank and dealing with our opponent. Your efforts were brilliant. I would have caved in if not for you. We are very pleased with the result.
If we ever have need for a solicitor, we will definitely use yourself/Rogers and Norton and recommend you.
This has been the fourth time that I have been working with your firm, and you and your colleagues have always been wonderful. I feel supported and safe.

Thank you for the time and effort you have put in to this – it was important to me to get some form of acknowledgement of what was due.
Mr A. Norwich
I’m really grateful for the help, support and guidance that Peter gave me throughout the High Court defamation claim, his tenacity and focus meant that I secured a successful outcome quickly and removed the stress and costs that would have been involved.
Thank you for your most comprehensive response; which both exceeded expectation in content and simultaneously set my own expectation for the future.
If things do not progress as we expect, we remain greatly reassured that you have a perspective on our situation and a wealth of knowledge upon which we can draw, should the need arise.
